What is Black Hole Registry?

Great first question, Universe!

You can think of us as the Universe making a slight correction on the various "Star Registries" and offering something a bit different. Your Black Hole at Black Hole Registry is a custom artwork, personalized message, and gift opening experience. No two are the same or will ever be sold again. Share yours on our socials if you wish.

What do you get with a Black Hole Registration?

So many things....

t’s honestly a tough question to answer! Black Holes are the most mysterious objects in the universe and there is some quantum uncertainty at work.

For our part, you’ll receive a one-of-a-kind print of a Black Hole that exists somewhere in the multiverse, complete with its own unique registration. Rest assured—it will never be duplicated or sold to anyone else.

As for what else might show up? Well… since we started creating mini black holes in our lab, we’ve been getting all kinds of strange surprises. If our stupid cat, Schrodinger, finds his way in there (again), don’t worry—we’ll cover the return shipping.

Do you really own a Black Hole?

That depends on your point of view. Technically your registration is the registration of your art/print. This is why each of them are unique and have a name like all great artwork.

The only internationally recognized agency that can "officially" name astronomical objects is the IAU (International Astronomical Union), but we are actively working on this!

It only took billionaires a few years to outsource NASA, and now that the Supreme Court has rebranded Bribery as "Tips" we can probably take this over if we make enough money. Starting our own religion isn't off the table either.

How do you know my Black Hole exists?

Science of course. Many cosmological theories posit that the Universe is infinite, or that we might live in a Multiverse with countless separate universes.

Once you pair infinity with the finite number of ways matter can arrange itself, something odd happens: anything that can exist, does exist… somewhere.

Not metaphorically. Mathematically. Somewhere in the endless cosmic sprawl, there’s a patch of spacetime where every particle just so happens to arrange itself into the exact same structure visible in this artwork.

Your other self knew this already.

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

Due to the nature and customization of our products we do have some conditions on our return process.

Unique & Custom Items

For unique and custom items, we will replace the item if it arrives damaged at no additional cost.

Non-Custom Items

We offer free returns and refunds of the item within 15 days of receipt. Store credit is issued for orders up to 30 days.

Friends & Family

Returns not allowed. See Rule 6 and 21 from your Ferengi Rules of Acquisition Handbook and get back to work!

Is my Black Hole purchase or registration visible to anyone else?
On our site? No. Your gift is private. We don't publish your gift or message to anyone else. We do keep a record if you want to upgrade your order.
Can I order a Black Hole somewhere else?
Of course. Carefully move to another location from where you are sitting or standing. The site should still work. If it doesn't, please let us know.
What can you tell me about shipping?
Our main products from Black Hole Registry are shipped from Minnesota, USA. It's so cold here that we have nothing to do for nine months of most years. Unless we are snowed in, we will ship your order as soon as possible.
Does everything get shipped together?
That depends on what is ordered. Some of our products such as Canvas and Metal prints are printed and shipped on demand from our suppliers. If you have ordered multiple items, you may receive multiple shipments.
