Somewhere out there is a black hole that nobody has named. You choose it, you name it, and we register it to you. It is yours alone: every black hole in this registry is sold exactly once and then never listed again, so the one you pick cannot turn up in somebody else's order next week.
What arrives
- A glossy 8x10 print of your own black hole, generated for you and nobody else.
- A numbered Certificate of Registration in a display folder, ready for a desk or a shelf.
- A written account of what your object is, where it sits, and how it came to be there.
- A mystery object retrieved from the black hole. Possibly Schrodinger's cat. We are not opening it to find out.
- All of it in a branded magnetic box, which is a polite way of saying it looks expensive.
Is any of this official?
No, and we would rather say so plainly. The International Astronomical Union names astronomical objects, and we are not the International Astronomical Union. Nobody at NASA is filing your paperwork. This is a gift, and a very good one, but the universe has not been notified.
